What ages do you accept? Do you have a children's program? How old must my child be to begin Aikido
training?
Currently we accept ages 12 and older. We do not have a children's class at this time.
Am I too old to begin Aikido?
That depends on your attitude. Aikido practice can be modified to be safe at just about any age or physical
condition.
Aikido is designed to go with--not against--nature. That includes human nature. So it is natural that a 60 or 70
year old's aikido will be different than a 20 year olds.
When can I begin?
Classes are ongoing. New members may begin at any time. You do not have to wait
for the first of the month.
When are classes? Which classes can a beginner
attend?
Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 - 7:30 PM, See the detailed class schedule.
Do I need a uniform?
Aikido practitioners wear a white, 'judo' type uniform, made of knit
fabric.
You can order a judo uniform online. They take about 7 days to arrive. You will need
a uniform to begin practice.
If you already have a white martial art uniform, you can wear that to get started and order a judo gi later.
Hakama, the dark 'skirt' worn by more advanced practitioners, is not worn by
beginners.
