Where to buy quality bokken, jo, and weapons bags for Aikido practice.

 

Bokken and Jo
The weapons we use in Aikido are bokken (Japanese wooden sword) and jo (short staff--approximately 52 inches)

Tozando

Aikido bokken  - Iwama style, the recommended shape
White oak jo  - 24 mm diameter

 
Bujin Design

bokken and jo; laminated. (also hakama, etc.)

 
Cool Rain

bokken and jo; same style as Tozando

 
King Fisher bokken and jo; impact grade hickory. Their website has excellent information about wooden weapons.

 

Weapons bag
You will need a bag to carry your weapons to and from the dojo. You can make a simple weapons bag by sewing it yourself, or you can buy one. We recommend those made by Bujin Design.
